Genesis 23 “Looking to the Promised Land”

Pastor Joshua Hall at Sparta Reformed Presbyterian Church on April 14, 2019.

Introduction

In 1620, a group of pilgrims sailed on the Mayflower from England to Plymouth Rock. They sailed because they were seeking a land where they could worship God as they saw fit. They were searching for a land of freedom. We too look for a better land, not a land of this world, but the promised land. Sarah, Abraham’s beloved wife, died before they inherited any of the promised land of Canaan, but Abraham purchased a field and buried her in the land of promise by faith in the God who would grant them an even greater promised land than the land of Canaan.
