Genesis 11:1-9 “The Pride of Babel”

Sermon preached by Pastor Joshua Hall at Sparta Reformed Presbyterian Church on November 11, 2018.

Introduction

When God made Adam and Eve, he blessed them and commanded them to be fruitful, to multiply, and to fill the earth. Then when Noah and his family left the Ark, God repeated the blessing and command. God’s intent was to fill the earth with mankind, the bearers of His image, who were to care for the creation as representatives of God. In this text, we read about a great rebellion against God and a redefinition of the purpose of mankind.
