Because God gave us the gift of families, and His plan for us is good, we must honor and support fatherhood.
According to the U.S. Census Bureau, 19.7 million children, more than 1 in 4, live without a father in the home. According to the National Fatherhood Initiative, children who grow up without a father in the home are 4x more likely to face poverty, 7x more likely to get pregnant as a teen, more likely to have behavioral problems, more likely to face abuse and neglect, more likely to abuse drugs and alcohol, 2 times more likely to suffer obesity, 2x more likely to drop out of high school, more likely to commit crime, and more likely to go to prison.
Fathers, you make a difference in the lives of your children. You are a gift to children, to families, and to society. And today we honor you.
