Luke 10:25-37 “Loving Others”

Pastor Joshua Hall, Faith Presbyterian Church, July 21, 2019

Introduction

Some people are hard to love. I’m sure we have all been around people we would rather have avoided. For some it is a family member with whom we have had a big fight. For others, a former friend who stabbed us in the back. Still others of us have issues with a brother or a sister from church who hurt us or someone we care deeply about. We might not go so far as to call these people enemies, but we really don’t love them very much and we wish we could avoid them. In these moments we find that our love for others is not enough to overcome the problems we have with them. Mercifully, Jesus gives us a love which is far greater than our own, a love which is strong enough to move us even to serve our enemies.
